What is the maximum processor speed supported in an IBM Thinkpad 240x and how easy is it to upgrade the CPU?

I want to upgrade the processor in this laptop, which is currently a 500MHz PIII. Is it possible to upgrade this, and if so, what is the maximum processor speed that it will support? I can't find any details relating to this on the IBM website.

Also, how easy is it to upgrade this type of laptop? I have never been inside a laptop before.
